Sleep Update

I just wanted to document for personal reference that Rose started sleeping through the night again about 2 weeks ago! Thank goodness :) All last week, she went down around 10 and slept until 7 like clockwork. This week, she has still been going to bed at 10 but has been sleeping in...till 8:30 or 9:00!! I am thinking about trying to put her to bed at 9:30 tonight to see what happens. Wish me luck!

Good morning, Rose!!Ready for a cat nap

First Laugh

Rose had her first real laugh yesterday! Mom and I were playing with her and she was loving what Mom was doing. She was using Rose's little dollbaby to play a little game kindof like peek a boo and all of the sudden Rose let out the cutest little laugh! Mom and I got so excited and then she did it again! Do ya'll remember that radio commercial that was just babies laughing the whole time? That's exactly what Rose sounded like. It was the cutest little sound I have ever heard. I can't wait to hear it again :)
Loving Grammy's funny songs and voices
Oh Grammy, you're so funny. She has also learned to grasp objects. She loves this little babydoll that Aunt Arlene gave her when she was born. Hum, let me see if she tastes as good as she looks.

New Post

I finally finished Rose's 3 month post. Only 2.5 weeks late! I have a hard time finding time to do things like this. It's 11:30 and I should have been in bed an hour ago but I stayed up working on the blog. I need some lessons in time management! Its just so hard to get everything done with a babe who takes cat naps and won't give her Mama time to take care of business! She just doesn't want to miss a thing during the day!! Sweet little thing.

PS- I am still planning to go private as soon as I have time to figure out how to do it! Don't forget to send me your email address if you want to continue reading. Thanks!

Going Private ASAP!

Hi everyone! I've been thinking about going private for a few months and decided it is time. Camille's was robbed last night and it just makes me remember that the world is not as safe as I sometimes perceive it to be. It just amazes me that there are people out there who have no problem doing things that will hurt others. My husband and the Camille's team bust their butts every day to try to make a living and in an instant, someone broke in and took things that they have been working so hard for. It really makes me so mad and sick to my stomach to think about people breaking a window and running around in OUR restaurant taking whatever they want!!!!! UGH!! I have to be positive though and remember that nobody was at work when it happened so thank God nobody was hurt!!!

My whole family knows that I am the kind of person who is just always a little scared! I hate being home alone at night, ALWAYS keep the doors locked, always turn on the alarm, etc... Sometimes I even lock Clark out of the house. Like if we are coming home from somewhere together and he stops to take the trash cans in, I'll walk in the house, shut the door, and lock it...just a habit. I even get out of bed most mornings just to make sure Clark locked me in the house after leaving for work. He always does, but you can never be too cautious, right? So, it just makes sense for me to protect my family on the Web the same way I do everyday at home.

If you would like to continue reading my blog, please comment on this post and leave your email address. You will use your email address to sign into my blog when you read it. I know that I might not know some of my readers and that is fine with me! I read other blogs of people I don't know and I would be sad if they went private and I couldn't read anymore! So, don't be shy...I'll probably still let you read the blog as long as you look legit. You know the term "People Like Us?" As long as you look like someone I would associate with, I'll still let you read :)

Thanks everyone for understanding. You just can never be too careful...especially when a child is involved.

Autism Fundraiser at Camille's

Did you know April is Autism Awareness Month? You can help raise awareness by eating at Camille's this week! Starting today, April 19, Camille's will donate $1 for every wrap they sell during the week to The Learning Tree, Inc. The Learning Tree, Inc is an amazing organization in Mobile that runs two programs for children with Autism in Mobile. The Learning Tree is a residential facility for older children and The Little Tree is a preschool where my nephew William attends. Next year, there will be a new school called Woody's Song that will serve children ages 6-10. So, be sure to stop by Camille's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and support this important cause. Just be sure you order a WRAP! Thank you Clark for participating in this fundraiser. We are so appreciative!

Camille's is located at: 5817 Old Shell Road (across from the Mitchell Center at South Alabama)

Rose Meets Uncle Pete and Jen

After a long 3 month wait, Rose finally got to meet her Uncle Pete!! Peter (my brother) moved to Chicago to start a new job just 2 weeks before Rose was born. He is an accountant for Deloitte and started his job during a very busy time of year for accountants! He was finally able to take a day off work and he came home to visit with his sweet girlfriend Jen. First thing Friday morning, Pete and Jen came over to meet Rose for the first time. I think they are both smitten :) Pete and Jen played with Rose all morning and then we went to the Country Club with the whole fam (minus Clark...he had to work) for a delicious lunch on the patio. The weather was awesome and everyone had a great time. Rose slept the entire time, William LOVED eating from the salad bar, and Jay had fun being spoiled by Grammy and Pops.Did I mention that William has become a great little eater? I've never met a 5 year old who loves salad, lima beans, and pretty much any other food you could think of. He is so healthy!
Saturday, the family came over to our house for a little crawfish boil. The weather was perfect and we had so much fun hanging out on the deck. I forgot to take pictures...boo! Jay had fun chasing Lucy around and William loved riding around midtown on Clark's golfcart. Rose stayed in Grammy's arms the entire time. Later that night, Rose went to visit her Jannie and Junior so that all of us could go to dinner at La Pizzeria. We all had so much fun and I laughed harder than I have laughed in a long time! We had a blast. Unfortunately, I didn't take a single picture!! Ugh!

Today, we went to the mall to check out the huge bungee-jump trampoline thingie that we thought William would love. He was a tiny bit hesitant at first, but after the first jump, he was in heaven! William LOVES jumping and this contraption was right up his alley! You should have heard his squeals of delight and huge smiles. It was so sweet to watch. I think it was definitely the highlight of William's spring break! After the mall, we headed to Mom and Dad's house for dinner. There is nothing better than spending the whole weekend with family. I feel so blessed to have a family who loves each other as much as we do. We are all sad to see Pete and Jen leave but we are looking forward to their visit in July. We love and miss you Uncle Pete and can't wait to see you and Jen in a few months!!

3 Months!

3 Months 2 Months

1 Month

It's hard to believe our little Rosebud is 3 month old already!! It's been an amazing 3 months! Clark and I have learned so much about being parents and we are still loving every minute we spend with our daughter. My favorite times of the day are morning and evening. Every morning after her early morning feeding, I let Rose take a nap in bed between me and Clark. Clark absolutely loves rolling over and seeing Rose's little face. He gives her about 100 kisses and it makes her smile so big!! It's a sweet sight to see Rose and her Daddy interacting. My other favorite time of day is after we eat supper and Rose just hangs out with us on the sofa. She loves playing with us during this time (usually after bathtime and just before bedtime) and she is all smiles!Rose still LOVES taking a bath! She gets so relaxed and she likes watching the water come out of the faucet. I remember one time she was fussy in the bath and I realized the water wasn't running. So, I turned it on and poof...she was smiling and happy!
Rose's sleeping through the night didn't last long. I definitely took her sleeping through the night for granted. During the past few weeks, Rose has been waking up after about 4-5 hours for a middle of the night snack. I guess it's just a growth spurt she is going through but I sure hope it ends soon!! A full night of sleep is such a precious thing for both of us. I'll never take it for granted again :)
Other than that, Rose still loves most of the same activities...checking out her Baby Einstein activity mat, going on walks, riding in the car, and swinging. She is starting to notice Lucy (our dog) and will follow her around the room with her eyes.
Happy 3 month birthday little Rosie! Your Daddy and I love you more than anything in the world and we are so glad you are here! You add so much joy to our lives and we love watching you grow and change every day. We hope you always stay as sweet and happy as you are today.

Little Roly Poly

My little Rosebud rolled over for the first time last night! She has been trying to roll over from tummy to back all week and last night it finally happened. My Daddy was over visiting and I decided to let Rose show her Pops her new trick of pushing up on her tummy. As soon as I put her down...whoop...she rolled over! I was so excited and then my Dad realized it was the first time she did it and he was excited he witnessed it with me! Poor Clark was still at work so he will have to see her do it some other time. Way to go, Rose!! We are so proud of your new accomplishment :)
