Catching Up: 10 Weeks

I've been really bad about updating the blog and I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from last week. Rose is still sleeping great...she goes to sleep between 9 and 10 and sleeps until 6 or 7. She is "talking" all the time and I just love listening to her find her little voice. Rose is also smiling at everything! Its amazing. Clark and I love her more and more with each passing minute. We feel so blessed to have a healthy and precious little baby and we look forward to watching her grow each day.
Trying out the bumbo...gotta get a little more control of that head!Hanging out with cousins William and Jay.Jay LOVES his paci and he especially loves Rose's! Now that he is crawling Rose doesn't stand a chance. He just crawls on over and plucks her paci right out of her mouth. Its funny to watch!Rose also loves riding in the cart at the grocery store. Shopping is so much more fun now that I have a little buddy with me. Watching Daddy check email Clark and Rose
I can't get enough of those cheeks!!

Enjoying warm afternoons on the deck. We love the quilt that Dottie made us!
Testing out our new jogging stroller.

We are so proud of Rosebud and her new skill!

Anniversary Weekend

Clark and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary with a nice long weekend at Dauphin Island. We left town Thursday afternoon and stayed through the weekend. It was so nice spending quality time with Clark since he took Friday and Saturday off work. Its not often that Clark takes that much time away from Camille's and we enjoyed spending the weekend together. It was a little too chilly to take Rose out to the beach, so we will have to do that on our next beach trip. I can't wait to put her in a little bathing suit and get in the pool with her!! Hurry up summer...we are ready!

Taking a little snooze while we devoured crawfish...YUMM!

Chunky Monkey

Rose and I went to see Dr. Sands for her 2 month checkup. She weighs 13 lbs and is 23.5 inches long, putting her in the 90th percentile for weight and height. Her head circumference was in the 50th percentile, so the doctor thinks she will end up being a very average little lady! Thats good to hear...wouldn't want a teenager in the 90th percentile! Yikes! I have decided to delay getting vaccines for a while so she didn't get any shots. I'm on the fence about the vaccines but I think I am making the right decision for now. Hope you enjoy the newset pictures of Rose, in all her roly-poly glory!

Happy 2 Months!

What a fun month this has been! Rose has changed sooo much since the day we brought her home from the hospital. She is such a happy baby and she brings so much joy to all of us. These are a few of her favorite things.

Taking naps in the bed with her Mommy and Daddy.

Snuggling up in a big towel after a bath.Smiling for the camera.Bath time!! This is her favorite activity I think!Playing on her baby Einstein activity mat. It is so cute to see her smiling and cooing at the little toys hanging down. Rose has really gotten good at sleeping through the night. Thank goodness! Most nights, she follows this schedule. She goes to sleep sometime between 8:30 and 9:00 and sleeps until about 3:00 or 4:00. After a quick nursing session, she goes right back to sleep intil about 8:00 or 9:00.

Clark and I were just talking about how much we are loving this stage. Rose is still a snuggly little baby, but she is beginning to express her personality through smiles and coos. She melts our hearts every day when she smiles at us. There is nothing like seeing your little girl express her happiness with a great big ear-to-ear grin! Priceless!

Emmalou's Sip and See

This week, we finally met Rose's buddy, Emmalou Weidmann. Emmalou is the daughter of a great high school friend, Martha, and her sweet hubby Bobby. Rose and Emmalou were born 8 days apart. She is such a beautiful baby!! I think she looks exactly like her Mama! Martha and Bobby live in Denver but we are looking forward to getting the girls together when they come home to visit.

We switched babies but Rose didn't take her eyes off me! She was following me all around the room.

Bottle Issues

To all the breastfeeding moms that read my blog...I need your help! Rose has been doing such a great job nursing, and we are really enjoying it! But, there are occasional times that I need to get out to run errands or feed Rose in a public place. Recently, she WILL NOT take a bottle! Did any of you have that problem? She makes a really confused face when I put the nipple in her mouth, and she tries to start sucking, but she just can't! The milk dribbles all over the place and she gags. She ends up crying and I practically end up crying too because its so sad to see her struggle. Any advice??? We have been using Dr. Brown's bottles and I tried using a different bottle (Adiri) that is shaped like the breast and is actually soft, but that didn't work. Please help us if you can!

House for Sale

Clark and I have decided to put our house on the market. We have really loved living in our house during the last few years and we are going to miss living here! But, we were offered an amazing opportunity that we just could not turn down. I can't say much about it yet, but once everything is official, I can tell you all about it! Anyway, if you know anyone who might be interested in a great midtown home, please tell them about our house! We are going to list it with my Mom next week but would love to show the house before it gets listed. Please take a look at the pictures by clicking on the link to Kodak Gallery and forward the link on to anyone else. Email me if you would like the address or asking price :) Jlyon3@gmail.com or call me at 656-0866.

All Dressed Up With Nowhere To Go

I decided to dress Rose in the gown I had made to bring her home from the hospital since it was WAY too big for her that day. She looked beautiful! Since we were just hanging around the house, I decided we should take a few pictures. Rose wasn't really in the mood to have her picture taken though! A few of them came out cute. I just love bonnets!
Here is the last one I took...I think Rose was finished with this photo session, what do you think? Haha! I laugh every time I look at this one. Rose had a good way of telling me to leave her alone and get her out of that fancy dress. Let's just hope she doesn't flash that little birdie too often! (Be sure to look closely at the picture...especially at Rose's right hand!)
