Almost 26 Weeks

Today I had my 26 week appointment with Dr. Shields. I was really worried about the glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes. I heard from several friends that if I failed it, I would have to go back for a 3 hour test where they draw your blood every hour for 3 hours. Yikes!! I HATE having blood drawn. In fact, I was dreading this day for the entire month. However, after drinking the horrible orange drink and having my finger pricked, Dr. Shields gave me a gold star and told me I passed with flying colors :) Just what I wanted to hear!! They did find out that I have very low iron (perhaps due to my 6 month long meat aversion!) So, I am going to start taking an iron supplement every day. Everything else looked good. Rose had a strong, healthy heartbeat and my tummy measured right for 25 weeks. Keep growing strong little baby Rose! We love you!!!

Nursery...In Progress

My original goal was to have Rose's nursery completed by the time Camille's opened. However, seeing that we are going to open in 1 WEEK, my plans have changed! Now I am just hoping to have it finished by the time she arrives in January! While we were in Tulsa at training, Mom and Dad oversaw a little construction at our house. We sheetrocked Rose's room, turned a portion of the attic into a large storage closet, painted the bathroom and staircase, and turned a nook in our room into a 2nd closet. It was like coming home to a set of "While You Were Out." Thanks so much Mom and Dad for all of your hard work during those 2 weeks.

Rose's pink glider came in this week! Clark and I love it so much. It is my new hangout. Whenever the phone rings, I find myself chatting away in the chair just looking out the window and thinking about how many hours Rose and I are going to spend in that chair. I can't wait.

Pardon my PJ's...Mama in the glider!
The proud Papa in the glider. Pink is definitely Clark's color :)

Today, I met Mom and Janet (my sweet MIL) at Siegel's Baby Room where we ordered Rose's crib and dresser!!! Our order should be here in about a month.

C
Once the crib comes in, we are going to have the bedding made with this fabric. It took me forever to find fabric that I loved, but I finally found it. I am in love with this little collection.

The solid pink fabric will be the bumper, the stripe will be the ruffle and ties on the bumper, and the flowery spiraly fabric will be the bed skirt and drapes on the window.

So, as you can see, we are working slowly but surely on the nursery and I can't wait to see it all come together. In the mean time, enjoy these pictures of the work in progress!

I just had to take a picture of the precious dress Janet bought for her granddaughter :) Matches her nursery perfectly!!

Shopping in the Box

When I was a little girl, I loved shopping in the box at the beginning of each season. "Shopping" meant going through boxes of Dana's hand-me-downs. I thought it was so much fun every time Mom brought down those big boxes. Well, tonight I got to shop in the box for Rose!! My sweet cousin, Jennifer, sent 5 huge boxes all the way from Colorado for little Rose. She has twin girls and her sister in law also has twin girls, so you can imagine the wardrobe they have collected over the years. Mom and I had so much fun going through all of the precious clothes which ranged in size from newborn to 6X! I don't think I will have to buy a thing for Rose with all the clothes she has for the first 5 years of her life! Thank you so much Jennifer. That was such a sweet surprise and we appreciate your generosity!!

Here are just a few of the outfits I found in the box! Seriously, this is 4 out of about 150 outfits.

For the little ballerina :) I am obsessed with the little ballet slippers.

Little Jay Bird

Look at this little chunker!! Jay is almost 2 months old and getting cuter and cuter every day! Thanks, Mom, for the pictures I borrowed from your blog. I really need to get better at taking pictures.

Look at his precious FEET :)

Back in Mobile...Finally!

We are finally back in Mobile after 12 days in Tulsa. I was surprised by how quickly the days went by and I loved working in the Camille's store and learning all about the franchise operations. Clark and I had so much fun with Julia, who is our General Manager, and we got to know a lot of the people who work in the Tulsa Camille's. They kept us laughing the entire time. I seriously can't remember when I belly laughed as much as we did last week! My head and stomach hurt at times from laughing so hard.

This week, we have started hiring for all positions and we have had a great turnout. If you know of any hard-working people who need a job, please send them our way! We are hiring cashiers, sandwich makers, back of the house people, and a catering manager.

Today I had another ultrasound to check all of Rose's body parts and she looks perfect! I loved when the sweet ultrasound tech said that she had a "beautiful heart." Such a great thing to hear about our unborn daughter!!!

Camille's Training

Clark and I leave tomorrow for 12 days of training in Tulsa, OK. We are sad to leave Mobile for so long but we are excited to learn all about Camille's! While we are gone, Mom and Dad are going to oversee work on our house. We are sheetrocking Rose's room and making a storage closet in a portion of the attic. I can't wait to see the room when we return. And I am not one bit sad to see the icky wood paneling go away forever!! See you in 2 weeks!
